Flanery takes some verses from one of Billie’s old journals and, with the guitar she finds in her aunt’s attic, a weather-beaten guitar with a red handprint, performs in a Seattle club, 1991.
After she plays, she meets Nigel Ashe who recognizes her talent and will become her manager.
